LDK Living Amberfield is a world class seniors’ community in Canberra. The retirement village overlooks the National Arboretum, the territory’s most famous forest and gardens surrounding Yarralumla’s shops and cafes. At the village, residents enjoy access to an onsite grocer, salon, café, restaurant, bar and a health and wellness precinct.
Project Design Brief
Designers had to incorporate an underground tank to deal with stormwater runoff from the pavements and roofs. This would comprise a detention tank that would be quick and simple to assemble and enable easy access for inspection and cleaning. The tank would store and gradually release the stormwater runoff into the council’s downstream infrastructure.
