Bonbeach Life Saving Club, Bonbeach: Successful Stormwater Management in Community Spaces

The Bonbeach Life Saving Club is a community-orientated club that encourages members to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle whilst learning life skills to become qualified lifesavers. In a recent partnership between the Victorian State Government and the local Kingston Council, a new club facility was constructed incorporating modern facilities with sustainable features.

Project Design Brief

Stormwater capture from the club’s roof top and its infiltration into nearby vegetation was part of the sustainability design brief. With limited space to work with, designers needed to maximise the storage capacity of an infiltration tank whilst fitting it into a very restricted space. An easy to maintain forebay sedimentation trap was also required.
